Vamos is the administrative capital of Apokoronas and one of the best-preserved stone villages in the Chania region. The village has been carefully restored. Old buildings are now guesthouses, the central square is kept up, and the kafeneion has been open since before anyone can remember. The Sunday morning market brings the whole region together.
