Vamos is the administrative capital of Apokoronas and one of the best-preserved stone villages in the Chania region. The village has been carefully restored — old buildings converted to guesthouses, the central square maintained, the kafeneion open since before anyone can remember. The Sunday morning market brings the whole region together.
