Kissamos

Κίσσαμος
The gateway to Balos, Falasarna and the wild west of Crete

Kissamos is the main town of the far western Chania region. It has a working port, a local market, a good archaeological museum, and the departure point for boats to Balos and Gramvousa. It runs on its own daily rhythm: fishermen at the port, shoppers at the covered market, old men over coffee at the kafeneia. It is a working town first and a place to visit second.
