Koutalas is a short gorge walk in the Apokoronas hills that ends at a small, rarely-visited beach on the north coast. The gorge itself takes about 45 minutes to walk through, passing fig trees, wild sage and the ruins of a Byzantine chapel. The beach at the end — a mix of sand and pebble — is almost always empty.
